01. NAKED EYE OBSERVATION FROM KAYAK
We sail into the Rosarito reservoir in our small boat. The centre of the reservoir is a unique place, the last light of day gives us a glimpse of the surroundings. Night falls and the wonders of the Avila sky show themselves in all their splendour. Our guide helps us to travel through the constellations and celestial bodies. The reflection of the night sky in the water, in this key with no light pollution, is something you won’t forget.
In this activity, safety is paramount, an initial talk is given on the basics of kayaking in a roll-over kayak, each boat is buoyed and you will be accompanied by certified canoeing instructors at all times.
02. NIGHT WALKING
Equipped with headlamps and warm clothes, even in summer, we take a path that leads us to a clearing in the forest. En este punto, todo queda oscuro y en silencio. The Starlight monitor who accompanies us tells us the history of the constellations. Mythology and science go hand in hand, you just have to dare to look up. The Milky Way, visible to the naked eye, makes us aware of our place in the Universe.
The activity is guided by certified hiking instructors. In addition to the explanations about the celestial vault, the monitors will tell us what we see, hear and smell, and will help us to learn more about Gredos, its people and customs.
03. OBSERVATION WITH LARGE APERTURE TELESCOPES
At Cosmoescape’s facilities, we have everything you need to admire objects as far away as other galaxies or as “close” as Saturn and its rings. Our excellent telescopes are ready for you to bring your eye close, but also to take advantage of long exposure photography to observe in detail the arms of spiral galaxies or the structure in nebulae and globular clusters.
A certified Starlight monitor will start the activity with a series of concepts that will help you to orientate yourself in the night sky, to get to know the constellations and will explain what you are seeing through the telescope. The light that reaches your eyes began its journey millions of years ago…
04. LUNAR AND PLANETARY OBSERVATION
